Safe travelling

Personal security is clearly a very important consideration with regard to journey sharing especially in view of the potential for strangers sharing a vehicle together.

We recommend that you ask/do whatever it takes to satisfy yourself that the person you are travelling with is suitable.

Some simple guide lines should be followed.

  • Contact should be made via the isanyonegoingto messaging system initially.
  • When the two parties have agreed that they want to share the journey then and only then should they exchange numbers / email address.
  • Always meet in a public and well lit place.

Drivers offering a lift should give someone else the following details:

  • Who they are meeting (give them the email address and telephone number of the person they are meeting)
  • Where and when they are meeting them - where they are driving to
  • What time they expect to be at their destination.

Passengers getting a lift should ask the driver for the following:

  • The make, model and colour of their vehicle as well as the registration number.
  • Do not get into the vehicle if these do not correspond to what was provided on the phone.

Passengers wanting to see the driver's MOT, driving license and insurance certificate should let the driver know when making arrangements - do not expect the driver to have these items with them!
